The largest Neolithic city in China

Archaeologists said the ruins of a 4km- ² city ​​discovered in Shaanxi Province, northwestern China are the largest city of this type in China during the Neolithic period.

According to the THX, the conclusion comes after more than 40 archaeologists conducted a 4,000-year-old Shimao Ruins in Than Moc district and measured the exact size of this ancient stone-built city.

Mr. Zhang Zhongpei, head of the Chinese Archeology Society, stated: "This city has magnificent stone walls and we have discovered a large number of carved jade, which speaks to the center of the city. this street in early civilization in northern China ".

Shimao was discovered for the first time in 1976. At first it was thought to be a small town, but the local archaeological authorities conducted a thorough research last year and helped them discover more. another wall.

The city has structures of inner and outer rings, and the outer walls of the city surround an area of ​​4.25 km ² .

At this site archaeologists also discovered a supposedly oldest mural in China.
