National Geographic said that Orionid meteor shower is Halley's 'product' - comet that humans can see 75 to 76 years. In fact Halley is the most famous comet among comets that appear periodically.
Halley comet flew around the sun. In certain periods, the distance between Halley and the sun is close enough, the heat from the sun causes matter to escape the comet. When the Earth enters that material zone, large particles enter the atmosphere at speeds of up to 145,000 km / h and ignite for a few seconds, creating streaks of light. People call this phenomenon Orionid meteor shower and light trails seem to stem from the constellation Orion (Orion).
'Although not the most spectacular meteor shower, Orionid is still a group of famous meteor showers. It is the result of the Earth's movement through Halley's comet dust , ' said Michael Solontoi, an astronomer at Adler's Astronomical Center in Chicago.
Solontoi predicts that when the Orionid meteor shower peaks, observers can see more than 20 tracks per hour.
'But we think the meteor shower this time will be partially overshadowed by the moon's light , ' he said.
Because the Orionid meteor shower is on the equatorial plane, people around the world will see it. From after midnight before sunrise in the next two days is the best time to watch the Orionid meteor shower.
