The moon is the first new place for extraterrestrial humans?

This hypothesis came after scientists claimed to have found evidence in a moon meteorite that could have had water on the surface. '' Ms. Hang ''.

According to phys.org, the new discovery was published by the research team from Tohoku University in Japan on the Science Advances website.

Accordingly, they found traces of a rare mineral called moganite in a moon meteorite found 13 years ago in northwestern Africa.

Mogamite is a quartz-like crystal, formed by evaporation of water. Thus its presence in the moon meteorite is believed to be new evidence that water freezes below the moon's surface.

Scientists believe that water exists in the north and south pole of the moon. But the new finding has hoped that frozen water could exist beneath many areas of the moon.

According to the Japanese team, they believe moganite formed in an area called the Procellarum Terrane on the moon, and water may have existed long before being evaporated by the harsh sun.

But maybe the water layer hidden beneath the surface of the moon has not evaporated thanks to being protected from strong sunlight.

"For the first time, we can prove that there is ice in the moon material , " Masahiro Kayama, the head of the research, told Space.com.

Kayama believed that water could have been brought to the moon by asteroids and comets about 3 billion years ago.

Then, for a short time, water may already exist on the lunar surface before seeping down.

The team leader also believes that many years later, a comet may have collided with the moon, causing moon meteorites to shoot into space and then fall to the ground.
