The moon will have mobile data carriers
The true story is a joke, but the Moon is known as a natural satellite that revolves around the Earth, will be 'equipped' with mobile data networks.
This project is deploying 4G connectivity instead of the 5G network in the first phase of global deployment.
This is a project of a group of German operator Vodafone, Nokia hardware manufacturer and Audi car manufacturer. This project was recently announced at Mobile World Congress 2018 and the goal is to put it into operation from 2019, with rocket launcher SpaceX.
The companies involved in this project are working with PTScientists, a group of volunteer scientists in Berlin working on special collaborative projects. Imagine being able to live stream HD videos from Earth to the listener is also very interesting, right?
However, although the future goal is to bring it to the Moon, this project is deploying 4G connectivity instead of the 5G network which is in the first phase of global deployment. The reason the founders of this project choose 4G technology is because it is more reliable at the present time, and easier to set up for use in the harsh conditions of the space.
