The mosquitoes transmit dengue fever dense in Hanoi

Monitoring results in many areas in Hanoi show that the density of mosquitoes spreading dengue fever is 3-3.5 times higher than normal.

According to Hanoi Preventive Health Center, the density of insects in the city this year increased many times last year. Very high mosquito density drags the vector of dengue fever to increase. The recent monitoring results also show that dengue mosquitoes are 3 to 3.5 times higher than normal levels of previous years.

Hot weather and heavy rain are now favorable conditions for mosquitoes to spread disease. The disease is spread by mosquitoes that burn infected people and then spread the disease to healthy people through stings. Two types of mosquitoes that transmit diseases are Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus , of which Aedes aegypti is predominantly. The female mosquito bites people during the day, burning the most in the early morning and evening.

Types of dengue mosquitoes reside in corners, dark in the house, on clothes, blankets, clotheslines and household items. They lay eggs, reproduce mainly in clean water containers in and around the house such as water tanks, jars, pots, jars, cranes, wells, tree holes .; items or waste items containing water such as flowerpot, bowl of millet, tire, coconut shell . This type of mosquito does not produce eggs in a pond or sewage with stinking water. Zebra mosquitoes thrive in the rainy season, when the average temperature exceeds 20ºC.

Dr. Nguyen Nhat Cam, Director of Hanoi Preventive Health Center, said that people should not worry too much but should not be subjective. For mosquito bites to prevent dengue, can use blinds, insect nets, mosquito incense, mosquito repellent .; The most important is to kill larvae . When there are signs of fever, suspected dengue should go to a doctor to consult, but not every case must be hospitalized to avoid hospital overload. Dengue fever does not have a specific treatment, so if you rush to test it will not solve the problem, it is important to monitor the disease.

' In the first three days, patients often have high fever, headache, fatigue but the whole situation is not dangerous. From the 4th to the 7th day, you need to follow up with a doctor's advice to avoid complications , 'said Dr Cam.

When dengue fever occurs, people with high fever suddenly last 2-7 days. Severe or mild illness due to the immune response of each body to the pathogen. Some people have severe illness from the second day, such as high fever fever from 39 degrees or more, severe headache, continuous vomiting, pain in the liver, diarrhea . These are signs of serious illness so need to go to the hospital right away .

According to the World Health Organization statistics, about 5-10% of dengue cases show severe signs that require hospitalization, the mortality rate is about 2.5% of severe cases. Most mild patients can monitor treatment at the lower level, at home. If treated at home, patients need to fully compensate for electrolytes such as drinking oresol, fruit juice such as oranges, lemons, sugarcane, grapefruit .

When high fever can take paracetamol antipyretic, do not take antipyretic analgesic salisilate group like analgin, aspirin . These drugs can lead to severe bleeding, internal bleeding leading to death. Patients need to eat well, improve their physical condition, rest and especially when there are severe warning signs, they must go to hospital immediately for treatment.

Dengue fever is an acute infectious disease, which is caused by dengue virus with 4 types. Immunity formed after the disease is specific to each type, so a person may have dengue 2-3 times.

Currently, nearly 16,000 Ha Noi people are recorded with dengue fever, the highest ever and has the highest rate of transmission in the community. Seven people died from dengue fever. 21 provinces and cities have to help Hanoi to kill mosquitoes against epidemic. The country has more than 80,000 people with dengue since the beginning of the year, 24 people have died.
