Halloween is said to have been around 2,000 years ago and since then there have been many folk legends and anecdotes about this festival.

1. Black cat

According to folklore, bats are one of the animals associated with witches. If someone sees a child that falls on Halloween night, it will be a bad omen. Accordingly, if the bat flies around a house 3 times then someone in the house will die soon. According to another legend, if bats fly into your house during Halloween, it is a sign that your house is haunted by the souls residing in the animal's body.

3. Cauldron for the soul

According to some Celts legends, after death, all the souls of the deceased will come to an old woman's cauldron - a symbol typical of the heart of Earth's mother. There, the souls will wait for reincarnation, transcending their lives. When the gods stir the cauldron, new souls will enter and the old soul will be reborn.

4. Tradition for candy or teasing (Trick Or Treating)

The tradition of candy or teasing (Trick Or Treating) dates back to ancient times. It is believed that, on the occasion of the Samhain (the festival of goodbye summer, welcoming the winter and remembering the dead of the Celts), the veil covers the world of the people and the souls will be thinnest.

At that time, ghosts can appear in human life. The souls will hide in human bodies like beggars. They will knock on your door and ask for money or food. If you don't give them anything, you will get angry spirits, cursed or haunted.
