The new wireless card reaches speeds of 270 Mbps
Dell's 1500 Draft 802.11n product, introduced yesterday, is five times faster and has twice the coverage of today's popular 802.11g Wi-Fi standard. Along with that is a network support software that runs faster.
Source: eWeek When connected to a Draft 802.11n network router using Intensi-fi technology, the card supports a speed of 270 Mbps, compared to 54 Mbps of 802.11g technology. The product is also backward compatible with 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g standards.
With two bands creating wider coverage, 802.11n technology easily overcomes the challenges of having multiple users, playing graphics with heavy graphics, high-definition video, transferring large files .
