The origin of the world's most beautiful diamonds

The results of recent research by Australian scientists show that diamonds in the world are formed from organic substances deep in the ancient sea floor.

The group of scientists led by Professor Lynton Jaques, Australian National University has just published this work in the famous scientific journal Geology (Australia).

"The results of this study have really ended the long debate about how diamonds are formed ," Jaques said.

According to the scientist, they have studied the best diamond patterns from all over Western Australia, Botswana and Venezuela . As a result, they found that the above samples have the same composition and chemical composition. surprising way. The reason for this is because they are all formed from the heart of the Earth.

'Diamonds are derived from organic substances located in the ancient sea floor. Then under the effect of subduction, these substances are introduced deep into the Earth's crust to form beautiful diamonds. Our recent research results have proven this. It is also the only way to explain why the structure and chemical composition of diamonds is completely different from all other materials on the surface of the Earth , "Jaques explained.

It is known that subduction is the process of two or more Earth continental plates being attracted to each other. Then an array moves down the other array and sinks into the Earth's heart (mantle-depth is about 400 to 650km above the ground).

After diamonds are formed here, they will be brought to the surface by geological movement, but more specifically, active volcanoes. That is why the most beautiful diamonds are often found in craters that are turned off, deep in the Earth's heart.
