The process of assembling Airbus A330neo aircraft shortened in two minutes
The Airbus A330neo is fully assembled and leaves the workshop in Toulouse, France, before taking off in the sky.
Airbus shares a two-minute video that records the process of assembling passenger jets A330-900 from transporting parts to the final assembly line and then taking off. Open the beginning of the video, the parts are unloaded from Airbus Beluga 3, one of Airbus' 5 whale body transports.
The aircraft assembled in the video was Air Mauritius's first A330-900, delivered in Toulouse, France on April 18. A330-900 is a wide body model in the A330neo series. The handover ceremony to turn Air Mauritius into the first airline to operate A330neo in the southern hemisphere.
The aircraft was named Aapravasi Ghat according to a World Heritage of Mauritius, including a cabin for two class seats with 28 business seats and 260 universal seats. The aircraft is equipped with Rolls-Royce's latest generation Trent 7000 engine and Sharklet curved wing designed to reduce fuel consumption.
A330-900 will fly over the connections to Mauritius with Europe, India and Southeast Asia and regional destinations like Johannesburg, Antananarivo and Reunion Island. A330 has attracted more than 1,700 orders from 120 customers.
