Online is spreading a short clip of the herd - one of the most timid penguins - living on a trash island floating between the Pacific Ocean, near Henderson Island.
This is the first time scientists have witnessed this phenomenon.
According to the World Wildlife Organization article, Gentoo penguins usually live on icebergs off Argentina, very far from Henderson Island.
Scientists say the clip reaffirmed the fear of experts about the status of garbage flooding the ocean. According to the latest report, the Pacific region between California and Hawaii, has appeared a "trash island" three times the area of France.
