The Russians plan to launch a luxury hotel on the ISS station, selling 4 million USD for a sightseeing ticket

This project has been hatched by Russians for many years, but it is unknown if it will ever come true.

For many years, Russians have been attempting to bring up a hotel . universe. This Russian plan, if done, would turn the entire red part in the picture below into a luxurious hotel area.

Note: Yellow - America, Red - Russia, Pink - Japan, Green - Europe, Blue - Canada, Purple - Italy and Orange - Brazil.

Most of these parts were never really attached, not even installed. In addition to the two Russian model modules Zarya (owned by the US) and Zvezda, all that comes from Russia on the ISS station is just three systems with shipbuilding, cargo stacking modules are also used. For research purposes, there is no such thing as a large solar panel, laboratory or research module as shown in the image above.

Not that Russia left its Universe program, it still plans to install and launch another research module called the Science and Power Module, abbreviated as NEM. They are planning "NEM packages" to bring to the ISS station. However, not sure if this is a dream hotel.

The NEM will have a large solar flare and a fairly spacious module, which can hold the price of research equipment and crew as well. The design of NEM has this special feature: it is no longer based on the TKS modile model used by the Russian aerospace agency since the 1970s.

It is expected that NEM will orbit in 2021 but due to limited funds, Russia has postponed this project. However, if it is turned from a "Space station" into a "space hotel for a lot of money", perhaps it will have a new source of capital brought from those "big money".

The Roscosmo Russian Space Agency already has a plan to apply for such funding: they cost $ 4 million in tickets for a place on the NEM module. The total cost of the entire flight to the ISS station will be 40 million USD, including 2 weeks of accommodation and meals on it. NEM will exceed the standard of the cabin which is available on the ISS: they will have large windows for sightseeing, have bathrooms and private bathrooms, will have Wi-Fi (the network on the ISS station is too slow) and set. exercise

According to Popular Mechanics, the Roscosmos Space Agency will need to sell 36 seats (18 flights on a three Soyuz carrier) to make a profit. They also pointed out that only 0.33% of the world's population could, in theory, experience this unique flight.

Perhaps this is an extremely long-term plan, but it should be recalled that the Russians once sold a space tour like this in 2001. Since then, there have been 6 trips to visit the ISS station and no incidents have occurred. The Russian plan is completely feasible.
