American scientists believe that some of Beethoven's classical music works were inspired by his own heartbeat.
According to a recent study by associate professor Zachary Goldberg, who works at the University of Washington's cardiology department, Beethoven's works have some very similar characteristics to an electrocardiogram. This means that the inspiration for Beethoven's musical works is also "dancing" to the heartbeat.
After studying music tracks, Goldberg and his graduate students discovered, Beethoven had problems with arrhythmias.
Cardiac arrhythmias are the common name for some unstable electrical pulse activity of the heart. When you have this disease, your heart rate will always beat too fast (more than 100 beats per minute), too slow (less than 60 beats per minute) or irregular (at fast, slow times).
With the help of Dr. Joel Howell from Michigan Hospital, Zachary Goldberg and his colleagues analyzed rhythm patterns in some works that could reflect Beethoven's arrhythmia.
Accordingly, in these works there are special details: the music has many unexpected changes in the speed of the notes, it seems that they are included in accordance with asymmetric melodies.
In particular, in the middle of the symphony of the Opus 130 string quartet, all the melodies were pushed from the Si-sounding voice to the dignified chief. This seems to show an emotional imbalance, like short and rushing breaths.
In addition, the researchers also speculate that Beethoven also suffered from many other diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease due to alcoholism, kidney disease and especially he was deaf.
However, experts are still trying to find the truth because these speculations are based only on records from centuries ago.
