The sheep has the heaviest fur in the world

The Australian sheep with the heaviest fur, up to 40kg, happened to be discovered outside a forest along Canberra's capital.

The world's thickest sheep fur

According to AFP, Mulligan Flats' adventurers discovered it, and informed the local animal rescue team (RSPCA). They went to the scene, but had to return to the morning of September 2 with the reinforcements because the sheep was too big.

"It's certainly one of the biggest sheep we've ever seen," said Tammy Ven Dange, head of the RSPCA. The animal was "4-5 times bigger than a normal sheep" . The RSPCA called for help shearing the sheep with the thick coat hanging over its eyes, causing the sheep to see nothing.

Ian Elkins, the four-time Australian sheep shear champion, got help.

"They sent me the picture, I've never seen a sheep with such fur , " Elkins said. "It is one of the biggest challenges ever with me."

Usually, a sheep grows 7cm more every year. On the morning of September 3, Elkins lost more than an hour to trim the sheep's fur, about 30 centimeters thick. He said, the coat weighs 42.5kg, setting a new world record. The previous record was the 27kg fur belonging to Shrek, the New Zealand sheep 6 years without shearing.
