1,500 sheep suddenly mass suicide - 13 years of mystery still has no solution
Each of the sheep in turn jumped into the pool, in front of the helpless witness of the farmers. Why do they commit suicide?
Sheep also committed suicide? Is it possible?
In 2005, there was an extremely rare phenomenon in Turkey. The shepherd farmers suddenly saw a child who seemed to be too disgusted with this world, and it resolved by . jumping down a cliff to commit suicide.
It seems that everything just stops there: sheep have a rare accident, while the farmer loses a sheep, it is not worth it. But not! Tragedy followed the tragedy, because at that time 1,500 other sheep were in the herd, after a moment of astonishment, then just jumped down.
This mass suicide sheep also caused significant damage to livestock families.
It is known that 450 sheep have died after the mass suicide. The rest of them survived because the previous bad guys had accidentally created a thick cushion, helping them reduce the impact of the jump.
However, this mass suicide also caused significant damage to livestock families. Estimated total losses amounted to $ 100,000 (equivalent to more than 2.2 billion at the present time) - a huge amount of money when the average GDP per capita of Turkey at that time was only about $ 2,700.
In fact, it is not the only time the Turks have to witness mass suicide sheep.
In 2010, another 50-calf herd on the way to . slaughterhouses in Turkey, also committed suicide by jumping into the pool. Herder Mejmet Gana - the owner of a sheep herd - had to watch his money disappear in no way to prevent it.
Currently, scientists have yet to come up with a reason for the sheep to make such bold decisions. Are they too smart, thoughtful, emotional, or are they just too stupid? You just think about it!
