The sniper rifle lowered the target by 3,000m

TrackingPoint Company is developing Super Tech Super Gun high-tech rifle.

TrackingPoint used to be famous when it made the Precision Guided Firearm (PGF) 'smart' rifle capable of helping the new gunner become a professional marksman.

Thanks to computers running Linux operating systems on guns, laser distance meters and cameras, guns can 'tell' the best time to make a shot at the selected target. At the same time, including factors such as wind speed, tremor amplitude, air temperature, humidity, backward force and tendency of falling bullets due to gravity.

Now TrackingPoint has launched a new project of manufacturing Super Gun rifle capable of aiming at 2,830m or more.

Currently, the record for a range of shots is about a British soldier who destroyed the target at a range of 2,474m in November 2009. In October 2012, an Australian gunman set a new record when he hit a target from a distance of 2,814m, but the record is currently unconfirmed.

TrackingPoint intends to build a rifle that allows accurate shooting at a longer range than the above record.

Of course, when developing new guns, it would have to significantly improve the parts installed on the PGF. A stronger laser distance meter will be needed and the camera with a higher resolution matrix (currently using 14 megapixel sensor). The viewfinder with a 35-degree magnification will remain the same, although it can be replaced.

Super Gun will need a much more accurate ballistic system. When shooting at long range, the accurate evaluation of the effect of extremely different factors, including the rotation of the earth, the failure of warheads, the change of climate conditions . will mean extremely important meaning.

The new sniper rifle is intended to use larger sized ammunition.50 (12.7mm) and larger. Currently, Super Gun is far from reaching the final design, but TrackingPoint has ordered partners with key details needed for gun operation.

This fall, they plan to integrate all the details and tests, and in the first half of 2014 will launch the active gun model.

It should be noted that TrackingPoint is not yet specified, at least currently, bringing Super Gun to market. This model will become a demonstration model of modern technological capabilities.

Not excluded, in the future, Super Gun application and structural components will be used for mass production models.
