The tiny monkey is just 10cm taller

The monkeys are about the size of a mouse with very large eyes occupying most of the face. When standing in front of the photographer's lens, the dwarf monkey Tarsier blinks an eye for a pose.


Each Tarsier dwarf monkey weighs only about 600 grams and their maximum length is only about 15 cm.


Tarsier dwarf monkey appeared on Earth 45 million years ago and has been widely distributed in many areas on Earth. However, this monkey species is now at risk of extinction. The main reason is that their habitat is being narrowed and many wild cats regard them as prey for hunting. On the other hand, this rare monkey is frequently caught by local people to feed and sell to tourists.


In addition to big eyes, Tarsier dwarf monkeys also have equally big ears. These ears support them well when listening to prey, such as insects, birds, snakes or lizards. Their back limbs are also very long, especially the instep. Thanks to these feet, Tarsier dwarf monkeys can move branches on branches at night. Their distance from a jump can be 40 times longer than the body length.


The last time this monkey was seen was in 1921. After that, the scientists all thought they were extinct.Until 2008, they were rediscovered in Indonesia and some Southeast Asian countries.
