The two adventurers Sam Cossman and George Kourounis recently became the first to reach the lava lake with the tremendous heat of the Marum crater.
Marum is located on the volcanic island of Ambrym, in the archipelago of Vanuatu, south of the Pacific Ocean. This is one of the most dangerous and hardest volcanoes in the world. Sam Cossman and George Kourounis made this expedition after years of dreaming and preparation. The video recorded their volcanic journey, posted online on September 4.
According to RT, the two adventurers approached the lava lake with the help of two others. For 4 days in this area, they had twice close access to volcanic lava.

During the discovery of the crater, Cossman and Kourounis went down to a depth of 360m. To avoid the heat of lava and the effects of acid rain, they have to wear protective gear to avoid heat and carry many other devices. According to the description of Kourounis and Cossman, the volcano in Vanuatu is like a "door to hell" with acid rain, high temperatures from surface lava flows or jagged rock faces.
"This is one of the five locations in the world that has a continuous lava lake. The journey to reach this place is like climbing the top of Everest," Telegraph said.
Kourounis said, he and his companion had approached volcanic lava so close that it melted and formed holes in protective vests and parts of the camera.
Earlier, George Kourounis was the first to explore the giant fire pit in Turkmenistan, also known as the "gate of hell".
