The US Navy tested earthquake weapons

The US Geological Survey (USGS) identified the tremors on July 16 off the coast of Florida not an earthquake, but a naval explosion test.

According to Science, USGS reported on July 16 a magnitude 3.7 earthquake off the coast of Flordia. This is a rare seismic event in the area that rarely happens.

The shock from the sea was so great that the people of this state could feel the earth shaking slightly. However, on July 20, the USGS denied that the July 16 quake was an earthquake and said it was an experimental explosion of the navy.

The US naval experiment took place in the waters about 168 km northeast of Daytona Beach. They activated the explosive block weighing more than 4,500 kg to assess the impact of the explosion on the coastal combat ship USS Jackson . After the explosion, the ship was only slightly damaged.

This is not the first time military trials have been confused with earthquakes. According to reports of historic earthquakes in Florida, from 1727 to 1997, only 24 geological shocks occurred in this area, but only 5 times were real earthquakes.
