Australian scientists have created a device they call the world's fastest and most accurate microscope, powerful enough to be able to identify tiny pieces of material in just a few seconds.
Australia's CSIRO research organization has developed this device for material analysis and support for police criminal investigations.
" We can search for materials collected on a surface that is being investigated and compare it with materials that fall from clothes or a vehicle for analysis, " said the research team member. Dr. Alan Butcher, said. In most cases, this device can be used to find the exact composition of the material.
An electron beam will scan, analyze and take X-rays of the material, determine its composition, and each time it takes about 5 milliseconds instead of the whole day.
It can also be used in archeology, in forensic medicine or in mineral technology.
