The world's first flying car is about to be sold in the US next month
Model Transition flight speed 160km / h will be ready to receive pre-orders from October in the US.
Terrafugia will receive pre-orders for Transition model cars in the US from October and deliver cars to customers in the following year, according to Xinhua. Transition is a two-seat electric vehicle and gasoline can switch between driving and flying mode in less than a minute.
According to Terrafugia, Volvo's parent company, Transition can fly 640km at a maximum speed of 160km / h. The price of the model has not been decided yet.
Transition can fly to a maximum height of 3,050 meters.
Recent improvements to the Transition include gasoline-powered electric motors, upgraded seats, larger luggage compartments, seat belts and premium airbags. The vehicle is also equipped with rear view camera, new parachute system, supercharged mode to help the car raise capacity in a short time.
The Transition is certified by the US Federal Aviation Administration for Light Sports Aircraft in 2016. It also meets the standards of the US Highway and Traffic Safety Administration, but customers still need to Pilot to control Transition.
Terrafugia believes Transition can be a useful vehicle for pilots to land at small airports and drive straight home. The vehicle possesses a compact folding wing which weighs about 590kg and landed more fixedly. Transition can fly to a maximum height of 3,050 meters.
TF-X, a 4-seater 4-seater model, will be controlled by a computer so that passengers choose the destination before taking off. TF-X does not need airport runways to take off and land and can run on all types of roads and highways.
