88 million copies of Vista have been sold

Earlier this week Microsoft revealed that it sold 88 million copies of Windows Vista - an increase of 47% compared to the number released in July. At the time, the world's No. 1 software company announced it had sold 60 million copies of Vista.

In addition to the above 88 million copies of Vista, Microsoft said there are still about 42 million PCs in businesses already installed using Vista. However, analysts said the 42 million figure was also the number that Microsoft had revealed in July.

The Microsoft leader said that the number did not change much, because there has not been much change in the number of Vista license agreements for businesses.

The number of Vista consumed above is the total figure calculated in the first quarter of 2007 of Microsoft. At the same time, Microsoft also affirmed that the trend to switch to Vista is getting stronger in recent times.

Microsoft 's statement almost goes against recent survey results. Forrester said 52% of respondents said they did not plan to upgrade to Vista. 11% said that until 2009, the Vista application was considered. 6% announced to wait until 2010.

Picture 1 of 88 million copies of Vista have been sold Forrester's study also found that 88% of businesses surveyed said they would continue to use Windows XP. The fact that the market has recently shown that the demand for Windows XP is still quite large. So last September, Microsoft said it would extend the XP business cycle for another 5 months.

Meanwhile, King Research said up to 90% of the 961 IT experts surveyed in the company's latest survey said they were still concerned about switching to Vista. More than half of them claim no plans to move to Vista.

IT experts claim that they do not want to switch to Vista because they are concerned that the operating system version can reduce stability and complicate their application environment.

44% of respondents in King Research survey said they are considering stopping using Windows versions and switching to Linux and Mac OS completely.

Microsoft hopes Vista SP1 will ship next year to help it speed up Vista applications.
