Speaking to attendees of the WinHEC conference yesterday, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates confirmed that nearly 40 million copies of Windows Vista have been sold so far.
" We sold nearly 40 million copies of Windows Vista by the end of last week, which means that Vista's application speed is twice as fast as Windows XP ," Gates said.
President Gates also confirmed the recent press release about the official name of the Windows Server 2008 operating system. The official name of the operating system is Windows Server Longhorn. It is expected that Longhorn will officially launch later this year.
