The world's largest purple diamond is found in the Argyle mine, Australia, weighing 9.17 carats.

According to Discovery News, crude diamond inflammation named Argyle Violet was discovered in August 2015. Argyle Mine , where Argyle Violet is found, provides 90% of pink and red diamonds in the world.

Rio Tinto has not yet given a specific figure for Argyle Violet's value, but the American Institute of Gemstones judged it to be a remarkable diamond with a deep blue and gray tinge. Experts at the institute are not sure how the color of the diamond formed but the cause could be due to the deformation of the molecular structure when the rock formed in the Earth's crust or approached the ground.

Diamonds offered at Argyle Pink Diamond Auction every year can reach 1-2 million USD per carat.

Usually, pink and red diamonds are worth 50 times more than white diamonds. According to Rio Tinto, purple diamonds are extremely rare and in the last 32 years, only 12 carats of polished purple diamonds have been used for auction.
