The vertical garden is located on the front of Tree House , in Bukit Timah area, near the center of Singapore island.
The garden is planted vertically by a 24-storey building, covering an area of 2.289m2. It was officially recognized as the world's largest vertical garden according to Guinness record, Channel New Asia said.
The vertical garden will reduce the region's carbon footprint, acting as a filter for toxic substances and carbon dioxide in the air. With a high-rise design, it will become a green wall that insulates the building, reducing heat absorption. Thus, the amount of electricity when using air conditioner will be reduced by 15-30%.
Green and environmentally friendly features are expected to save more than 2.4 million kWh of electricity and 30,000 cubic meters of water per year.
