The world's oldest man passed away at the age of 114

Mr. Juan Vicente Perez Mora, a Venezuelan, passed away on April 3, just 4 weeks before his 115th birthday .

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the death of Mr. Juan Vicente Perez Mora was confirmed by Freddy Bernal, governor of Tachira state, where he lived.

The cause of Mr. Perez's death has not yet been determined.

Born on May 27, 1909, Mr. Perez was confirmed as the world's oldest man on February 4, 2022 at the age of 112 years and 253 days. He became the owner of this record after his predecessor Saturnino de la Fuente Garcia of Spain, born on February 11, 1909, passed away on January 18, 2022, at the age of 112 years and 341 days.

Family is especially important to Perez. He was married to Mrs. Ediofina del Rosario García, living together for 60 years until her death in 1997. During that time, he and his wife gave birth to 11 children: 6 sons and 5 daughters. They also have 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Perez credits his longevity to working hard, going to bed early and drinking a glass of aguardiente, a locally distilled liquor, every day, among other factors.
