The world's oldest man welcomes his 112th birthday
Sakari Momoi in Japan became the oldest man in the world, after the one who took the title earlier, Alexander Imich, died in 2014 in the United States.
Momoi was born on February 5, 1903 in Fukushima City, just a day after Alexander Imich was born in America. Imich died in 2014, life span of 111 years and 124 days.

Momoi was once a teacher of agricultural chemistry. In 1982, Momoi married Tamiko (now dead). Momoi couple has five children. He currently lives in a hospital in Tokyo city. Here, Momoi tool participates in a number of activities such as throwing balls and practicing beautiful writing.
Kyodo news agency quoted Momoi's third son, Hiroo, 66, said he was laughing when his family celebrated his birthday on February 5.
According to Ibtimes, the oldest woman in the world is Leandra Becerra Lumbreras, 127 years old, in Mexico. Mr. Lumbreras used to participate in the Mexican revolution in 1910. He has 20 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and 55 chit.
However, Lumbreras was not officially recognized as the oldest person in the world due to the loss of birth certificates 40 years ago. Therefore, Misao Okawa, 116, of Japan holds this title. Mexican officials are in the process of re-supplying new birth certificates to Mr. Lumbreras.
