The world's oldest grandmother celebrated her 116th birthday

On March 5, the world's oldest woman, Ms. Misao Okawa, celebrated her 116th birthday in a candle-lit party at a nursing home in Japan.

Misao Okawa was born in 1898, in a family of traditional kimono in Osaka, Western Japan. He built his family in 1919, had three children, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In 2013, she was recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the "World's oldest woman".

On the birthday celebration, Misao Okawa was wearing a bright, cheerful pink kimono with family members and friends in a nursing home.

The management board of the nursing home offers a beautiful pastry, plugs candles number 1 and 6 to show the age of the instrument. Earlier this week, the mayor of Osaka also visited and congratulated his birthday.

The nursing home staff member said Misao Okawa was in very good health, and she was even on the rise.

According to Misao Okawa, his long-term secret is to have delicious meals and relax. His favorite dish is sushi. In addition, during daily meals, he eats everything he likes like beef stew, spaghetti and sashimi noodles.

Japan is one of the countries with the largest proportion of elderly people in the world, with 25% of the population over the age of 65. This number is expected to increase to 40% in the coming decades.
