The recognition of Guinness World Records is a meaningful gift for Mrs. Okawa, when she is about to blow the 115th candle next week. According to the Geriatric Research Institute, age information verification agency for Guinness, she was born on March 5, 1898.

Mrs. Okawa is living in a nursing home in Osaka City. The manager here said she ate whatever she liked.

She is the daughter of a kimono maker. She married in 1919 and had three children, two girls and one boy. She currently has 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Her 90-year-old son, Hiroshi, said that even if he inherited his mother's genetic gene, he still didn't think he could live as long as she did."On my inner side, there are some people who also live very long but some died early, as my father died at the age of 36. Therefore, I still do not believe that I will live long."

The oldest living person in the world has been recognized by the Guinness organization as Jiroemon Kimura, 115, who also lives in Japan. Japan currently has the most hundred-year-old people in the world, with more than 51,000 instruments. More than 87% of these are women.
