The oldest person in the world died

(Khoahoc.tv) - The oldest woman in the world, Mrs. Besse Cooper passed away at the age of 116. She was originally a Tennessee teacher.

Her son, Sidney Cooper, said the woman had left peacefully on Tuesday at a resting place near Atlanta, Georgia. Recently she suffered from stomach virus disease.

Besse Cooper had his hair done on Tuesday morning and watched a Christmas video, but then had some breathing problems. Despite being given oxygen, she died after a short time.

'With the hair already prepared it looks like my mother is ready to leave,' Mr. Cooper recounted.

Cooper instrument certified by Guinness record organization is the oldest in the world in January 2011.

In May 2011, the Guinness Foundation discovered that the Brazilian woman named Maria Gomes Valentin, 48 days older than Cooper, but died in June last year.

Born in Tennessee, Besse Cooper moved to Georgia during World War I to find a teaching job.

The son said the funeral will be held later this week.

Guinness record holder said Cooper was recognized as the oldest living by American Dina Manfredini from Iowa, who is 115 years old.

The oldest known person was the French-born grandmother Jeanne Calment who was 122 years old and died in 1997.
