In December 2012, Guinness World Records recognized the oldest person alive after a 115-year-old grandmother died in the United States. By December 28, the same year, he broke another record: becoming the oldest man alive in history when he reached the age of 115 years and 253 days.

For men, Kimura is a champion, but he is still quite far away from the common record of all humans. The above record belongs to French grandmother Jeanne Calment, who died in 1997 at the age of 122.

Kimura celebrated her 116th birthday in April with a congratulatory message sent by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. He has 7 children, 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 14 little children. He worked for 40 years at a post office, then retired and moved to farming until he was 90 years old.

In addition to Kimura, this year the city of Kyotango also welcomed 94 grandparents, another grandmother touched and crossed the 100-year-old mark. This feat makes the city decide to conduct diet studies to find out the secrets of longevity.

After Kimura, the title of the world's oldest man belonged to Misao Okawa, 115, who is also Japanese.
