According to the Psychological Science magazine, the scientists conducted a series of experiments to understand the relationship between etiquette and many different foods.
With experiments with chocolate and carrots, participants eat in two different ways. The results showed that participants who took the correct order or rituals to eat chocolate like tearing the packaging were more interesting, and wanted to enjoy more than others.
According to scientists, performing sequences or rituals has a positive impact on the dining experience. Professor Kathleen Vohs, the lead researcher, said they are thinking of giving patients an important ritual before surgery to limit pain and healing.
