The zipper bag has a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters of water

Huge water-filled container-type container with a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters of water, meets the demand for drought or disaster-prone areas.

According to Euro News, fresh water is distributed in some areas but very scarce in other regions. Fresh water can be transported by sea at high cost. However, a team of engineers in the XXL-REFRESH project in Europe found a way to use cheap soft bags to transport 2,000 cubic meters of water. They conducted experiments in Spain in early 2013 and obtained positive results.

In the experiment, after two days of filling clean water, a giant floating container was ready for the first voyage on the sea. Its design is rugged enough to stand up, and is flexible enough to allow waves to overflow.

"This is a water bag, a flexible container to transport drinking water by sea. It is made of waterproof and durable fabric. The compartments are connected together by zipper very firmly and without water. " Samuele Ambrosetti, an industrial improvement engineer at D'Appolonia, said. The zippers easily connect the compartments, forming a large or small bag depending on demand.

According to Gianfranco Germani, director of Ziplast, the seam is specially designed to turn this bag into a complete block. It consists of two sealed layers like a bread sandwiched inside the surface of the water bag. In the middle of the zipper is a polyurethane synthetic plastic film that protects the weld.

Test container bags contain 2,000 cubic meters of fresh water, equivalent to 2,000 tons of weight. Engineers need to make sure the lock does not break when the heavy bag is pulled at high speed at sea.

Inside the bag attaches fiber optic sensors. These sensors will monitor the compartments so that the engineering team can observe the deformation of the cavity. If the waves are high or the speed is too high, the engineers will notify the captain.

Water-carrying container bags are primarily developed to transport water from a plentiful supply to the surrounding areas that are temporarily lacking in water, for example when many visitors arrive in the summer or in an emergency situation. . When not in use, water bags can be folded and stored in storage.

The shared engineering team will continue to increase the capacity of the water bag by 10-20 times, and let it drive itself through satellites.
