They discovered new frogs in Asia

Scientists have announced the discovery of a new species of landslide that can live in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal and Vietnam, the BBC reported on March 5.

After genetic analysis at the molecular level, they determined that this is a new babbler species, called the earthy babbler Elachura formosus . Previously, this new babbler looked superficially confused with the North American winter babbler.

The findings are published by Swedish University scientists and the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Biology Letters.

'The bastard babbler Elachura formosus is about the same size as a sparrow, the coat is gray, it is difficult to observe and detect because it lives in the lush bushes of the Asian tropical forested areas' , Professor Per Alstrom - the lead author of the study, works at the Swedish University - told the BBC.

Studies show that new species of babbler can be found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal and Vietnam.

However, according to Mr. Alstrom, the song in the mating season of the rough-headed babbler can be confused with any other bird's song.

Scientists say the method of analyzing molecular differences in genetics today is often used in determining the 'mistaken' relationship between animals. Currently, the habitat of this new babbler is being protected by scientists.
