This round ball is one of the special creation that scientists have discovered

The name is also somewhat ... creepy.

Across the oceans out there, hidden in beautiful coral reefs, there exists a rather strange creature. They are round like a ball with a smooth surface, looking very interesting.

This species of algae is quite a horrible name as the eyeball sailor.

The creature is a species of sea algae, scientific name Valonia ventricose but commonly known by a somewhat horrific name is algae "eyeball sailor" . This algae is not fixed in size, can be as small as a ping pong ball, or may be bigger than that. But more importantly for scientists, they are also one of the most special creatures because the whole "eyeball" is actually just a circular cell.

Indeed, the entire sphere has only one giant cell, and this makes the sea eyeball algae in the top of the world's largest single-celled organism.

In fact, when the word "cell" is mentioned, nobody thinks it can be seen with the naked eye, but must use a microscope. So, finding such a big "cell " really surprised science. And after research, they discovered this algae possesses some tricks to help it grow so big.

This algae is not fixed in size, can be as small as a ping pong ball, or may be bigger than that.

In fact, normal cells cannot grow this big, because the bigger the size, the bigger the surface area, and this affects the ratio of their mass.

But this species of eyeball is different. Although they are single-celled, they have many cytoplasm, each cytoplasm has its own nucleus and green. Because of this structure, when someone tries to crush it, it will not break, but the inner cytoplasm will grow stronger, forming a new "eyeball" .

Interesting? Clearly, this world still has many strange things that we can never know.
