Each year, the Royal Society organizes a photo contest to mark "the power of photography in capturing science in many forms", attracting millions of beautiful photos from all over the world.
The photo of winning this year's Astronomy category is "Three diamonds in the sky" by Petr Horálek.The photo was taken during the solar eclipse.The halo appears like the diamonds of the universe.
Second prize in the Astronomy photo category is a photo of Bernard Miller shooting the Orion nebula.The image of the Orion nebula is treated with a superimposed 6-color printing process.Photographer Bernard Miller spent a total of 39 hours in a six-week period at Dark Sky New Mexico (USA) to get this picture.
The winner of the Behavioral Photo category is Kristian Bell with a picture of two royal terns dancing together on the beach in Florida.The photo was taken with a Canon 300mm lens and 2x focus focal length.
Second Prize in Behavior category: "Child on the mother's back" by Anton Sorokin.Child care is common behavior in birds and mammals, but some amphibians such as poison frog Ranitomeya imitator also appear this behavior.This photo captures the moment when a male frog carries a tadpole on its back to jump into a lake.
This is a picture of Katharine Cashman, winner of the Earth Science category.Photo taken at Cappadocia, a famous tourist destination in Turkey.The mountains here were created by a volcanic eruption, and by the wind and sculpted water.
Second is the "Statue" of Alejandro Roman Gonzalez.The highlight of the photo is the shadow of Teide Mountain in Tenerife covered by dramatic sunset colors.

The winner of the Micro Image category is Leandro Lemgruber.This photo was taken at the University of Glasgow (Scotland) Research Institute when the research team was studying parasitic parasites.
