The scientific community agrees that the universe was born by an event called " Big Bang " 13.7 billion years ago and is expanding at an increasing speed. However, the universe will expand in a definite or indeterminate period, which is still controversial.

According to AFP , Raphael Bousso , an astrophysicist at the University of California in the US, and colleagues from the US and Japan conducted a study to understand this issue. They calculate the probability of the universe's dilation stop based on the most advanced computer models. The results show that the universe will stop expanding, meaning that time will stop, for 3.7 billion years.

"Time certainly does not stop in our lives, but the likelihood of it ending in 3.7 billion next year is 50% ," the scientists claimed.

Bousso said that if the theory that his group made was incorrect, countering it would help the scientists better understand the universe. ' In science, these inferences are very valuable. Even if you give up a hypothesis, you still have to find a reason to give up , 'he said.

Of course, many scientists around the world disagree with the conclusion of Bousso group. Speaking on ABC TV, astrophysicist Charles Lineweaver of Australian National University, stated that Bousso's conclusion is inaccurate, because they use only statistical methods.
