For ease of installation, this new invention does not require the door handles to drill or change the original design.Users only need to fix the pieces mounted on the handle with 4 screws.

Once installed, the shape of the new handle will allow people to open the door with their arms to avoid hand contact, which helps prevent corona virus infection.

However, despite avoiding hand contact, the door handles that attach to this device are still at risk of being attached to the virus.Therefore, Materialize still encourages users to sterilize them regularly.

Materialize said it is offering the design completely free of charge via an online platform and that any individual or business can apply 3D printing technology to use it.

This free sharing also encourages everyone to freely customize designs for many different types of doors and distribute them to the market themselves.

Answering to Business Insider, Materialize revealed that their team only takes about 24 hours to create and test this design.

The instructions for assembling the pieces together and attaching them to the door handles are also easy to understand.
