Treatment of polluted water with microorganisms
The Department of Environmental Microbiology - Institute of Environmental Technology (Vietnam Institute of Science and Technology) has isolated and selected 30 bacteriophage strains and 20 thermophilic bacteria strains, with the advantage of decomposing effects. Strong organic substances in waste water.
All selected strains of microorganisms used to produce microbial preparations have been thoroughly studied for biological characteristics to confirm that they are not toxic to humans, animals and the environment . The composition has been used in combination with aquatic plants (Japanese duckweed) to remove nitrogen and phosphorus in water, decompose organic matter.

The research team has treated water pollution in Dong Mau plastic recycling village, Yen Dong commune, Yen Lac district (Vinh Phuc). After 1 month of treating pond water from heavily polluted water, it has reached surface water of category B (according to QCVN 08: 2008 / BTNMT).
Microbial products are also applied to treat livestock waste water and rice vermicelli, rice cakes at drainage ditches in Hop Thinh commune, Tam Duong district, Vinh Phuc province all have very good treatment results, sensory reducing stinking, polluting indicators such as COD, BOD, pathogenic microorganisms reduce by 5-6 times compared to when not using inoculants.
