Turn iPhone into remote control

With just one small device with a knuckle, your iPhone will become the universal remote control for all home electronics.

In the era of HDTV boom, home theater, gaming consoles and online media, you'll probably have a collection of remote controls in the living room.

This collection is not as fun as you might think, and sometimes it even gives you headaches. That may be because of different button designs, lost battery covers, countless rechargeable batteries ... or can not figure out how to turn on the DVD with a variety of remote controls.

L5 Technology has launched a device attached to the iPhone or iPod Touch to turn your smartphone into a universal remote control.

L5 Technology provides a tiny device that attaches to the iPhone's connector, the iPod Touch, which is actually an infrared transmitter with a range of over 9m.

You just need to add it to your iPhone and install the free software on the App Store (the iPhone app store) that you can start using.

This software allows you to create an arbitrary remote console with the option to arrange buttons. After arranging, you can teach the software to learn the controls according to the detailed instructions in the software.

Just once, your iPhone will turn into a multimode controller. Now, you want to control your TV, just turn on the software, go to TV and do whatever you want. Want to watch DVDs, just switch to DVD, will not take time to find all kinds of remote control.

However, similar to Logitech Harmony, the device of L5 Technology does not work with the PlayStation 3 because this game system uses Bluetooth rather than infrared.

The device will be sold on the market for $ 50 from February 2010.
