Turn the Ba River water into ... pure water

Each hour this machine can produce 300 liters of pure water, consuming only 610 W of electricity, making money of only a few hundred VND. Currently the machine has been installed in more than 10 schools and production facilities.

That is a useful solution by engineer Vo Phu Quoc, currently a teacher of Electrical Faculty of Tuy Hoa Industrial College (under the Ministry of Industry), successfully devised and built.

Thoroughly handling microorganisms, filtering toxins

Concerned about the many areas in Phu Yen, people have to use polluted water, since 2003, engineer Vo Phu Quoc has started to study clean water solutions for the community. Not long after that, the water purifier was born.

On the outside, the device is quite compact: 65 cm long, 40 cm wide and 150 cm high. The machine has 3 main systems: physical treatment - chemistry, purification and sterilization. The physical-chemical treatment system consists of 3 vertical columns with the function of deoxidizing iron, softening hard water with cationic particles and detoxifying the water with activated carbon. The purification system allows filtration of insoluble residue to 0.2µm, meeting the standard of direct drinking water according to Vietnamese standards. The bactericidal system is treated almost thoroughly when used simultaneously with ultraviolet light and ozone. Where the water source is available, let the water flow directly through the machine, where another electric pump is required.

Mr. Vo Phu Quoc said: 'This machine not only thoroughly handles microorganisms but also filters common toxins in the water such as flour, iron, lead, mercury .; Hard water treatment (Mg 2+ , Ca 2+ ) '. In addition, depending on the water quality of each region after being analyzed, the National engineer researched to refine the purification device to meet the necessary standards.

' For example, the water at Tran Phu High School (Chi Thanh, Tuy An) has a high iron content, at the Grade 2-3 Son Thanh School (Tay Hoa district), it is hard water and contaminated with flour . Test results Experiences of Phu Yen Preventive Medicine Center show that this machine is very well handled. We have also installed the system for Song Ba Ha Hydropower site. This is the most difficult place to handle because Ba River water is very turbid and has many impurities. We have to use chemicals to make precipitates, then the water is taken to the preliminary treatment tank and finally passed through the purifier, giving the water the standard of direct drinking , 'said Quoc.

The Vietnam National Office of Intellectual Property has granted a certificate of exclusive protection to manufacture this machine for engineers in the country.

1 m 3 of pure water . VND 1,500

Vo Phu Quoc engineer said the clean water production equipment for his community is similar to the system in pure water production facilities. However, the difference is the price. ' A machine made by me costs less than 30 million dong, only one-seventh of that of the cheapest imported pure water machine available in Tuy Hoa City, ' he said.

Not only cheap, this pure water machine consumes very little electricity with a total capacity of only 610 W. per hour with a production capacity of 300 liters / hour, per cubic meter of pure water made by machines It costs more than 3 hours and consumes about 2 KW of electricity, meaning less than 1,500 VND - half the money of a 500 ml pure water bottle.

When asked, users assume that the device is very useful. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thuong, Principal of Son Thanh High School, said: Our school averages about 1,200 students each year, so the demand for drinking water is quite large. In the past, often when going to school, students had to bring water to drink. Since the installation of this clean water purifier, both students and teachers in the school use it freely because the filter has a large capacity.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Head of Administration Department, Phu Yen Vocational School Organization also said that Quoc's water filter has met the needs of the school with 3,000 students.

To date, this machine has been installed in 12 schools and units in Phu Yen, a school in Hue and currently receiving orders from some customers in Khanh Hoa, Nghe An .
