The main task of the trip is to collect climate data and atmosphere on Mars . Sarah Amiri, deputy project manager, said their goal is to provide the first comprehensive view of the atmosphere on the red planet and its changes. Data will be analyzed and shared to the international scientific research community.

According to IB Times, with this project, the UAE will become one of 9 countries in the world with a program to explore the red planet. The UAE currently has 4 spacecraft in Earth orbit.
