Unexpected benefits from probiotics
People who use probiotics (or yogurt containing probiotics) often have lower blood pressure, according to a new study published in Hypertension.
The probiotic group (found in probiotics or yogurt) has long been known to have many effects from helping to control the regulation of the digestive system to support weight loss. A new study suggests that there may be another amazing effect of probiotics that people do not know yet are the ability to improve blood pressure.

Experts analyzed 9 major studies with 543 patients, 8 of which used probiotics to reduce systolic blood pressure. 8 studies have reported a decrease in diastolic blood pressure although only 2 showed clinically significant results.
Experts found that blood pressure dropped more sharply if participants used yeast containing many types of microorganisms. They suggest that these benefits may be greater for people with higher background blood pressure levels.
The authors stated that the level of improvement by using probiotics is equivalent to reducing the consumption of 2g of salt per day. This can be a fundamental step towards strengthening cardiovascular benefits to the community in general.
