Urgently kill vines, save the national forest forbid Son Tra
Before the convoluted creep threatens the survival of the national forbidden forest of Son Tra, Da Nang City People's Committee decided to spend 100 million emergency treatment.
On November 10, Da Nang People's Committee Office said, the city leaders have just decided to spend 100 million dong to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to handle convoluted wire on an area of 80 hectares of Son Tra national forbidden forest.
The Son Tra Peninsula Management Board and Da Nang Tourist Beaches are also assigned to coordinate with Da Nang Land Management - Exploitation Company, Forest Protection Department to work with tourism facilities on this peninsula. so that units have plans to handle convolutions in business and management areas; Do not allow forest fires to occur.
The reason for the decision of the People's Committee of Da Nang City is that the forest forbid Son Tra National Park is being seriously threatened by convolvulus, a very strong vines, overwhelming and covering other trees, making changing ecosystems, even causing widespread forest death .
According to Son Tra National Forest Management Board, there are about 500-600ha out of 4,370ha of forest in Son Tra peninsula covered by convolvulus. This vines grow very strong, in a short period of time, can cover a large forest, lack of light and kill most of the trees below. Not only that, this vines are also easy to cause forest fires.

Because chemical treatment cannot be carried out because it will pollute the water source (in this area, there is a clean water supply plant and many tourism projects), the Forest Management Board prohibits the Son Tra state from hiring treatment people. manual method, luminescent luminescence but not very effective due to the large area of forest covered by vines, access to the vines area is very difficult.
It is known that in addition to the national forest of Son Tra, many other forests in Danang such as Hai Van, Hoa Phu, Hoa Ninh, and Hoa Bac are also seriously affected by convolvulus. In which, there were many areas of forest died before the attack of the ' enemy ' vines.
Since the beginning of 2008, the Da Nang forestry sector has requested to invest 3 billion VND for items to survey and design processing projects; broadcast vines of vegetation, root digging, collecting and processing. However, scientists believe that the funding for thorough handling of this type of wire can be up to VND 30 billion and the work must be carried out for many years.
