Use a 3D printer to build a space station
The European Space Agency (ESA) is expected to build moon-based facilities by 2030, and this tectonic work will be entrusted to new generation 3D printers.
This is considered an extremely complex task with huge workload. Construction works will be linked together to form a large-scale complex. At the present time, everything is still on paper.
In the next 15 years, moon stations created with 3D printing technology will be ready.
However, feasible predictions indicate that within the next 15 years, moon stations created with 3D printing technology will be available. A workshop on this project has just been conducted, including the role of robots and assistive technologies, particularly 3D printers.
The mission of exploration and settlement on the moon has been mentioned by ESA many times. However, this is the first time this mission has been discussed publicly at the workshop. Initially, the robot station will be pre-set on the moon, serving as a contact with the team of experts on Earth. Then, when there is enough progress in science and technology, people will be brought to live on the moon.
The moon is an excellent break for astronauts before reaching the Red Planet . This is the ultimate goal of human settlement. Recently scientists have found evidence of water flowing on the surface of Mars, which is considered a very important finding for future human migration plans.
