Currently, Thien Cung 1 has completed the assembly phase and is undergoing a general testing of electrical, thermal and mechanical features. After completing the testing phase, Thien Cung 1 will be put on a predetermined orbit in 2011.

The next stage after Thien Cung 1 was launched into orbit in 2011: China will continue to launch the Shenzhou spacecraft 8 and make a connection with Thien Cung 1. This is the operation of connecting devices China's first space driver.

In preparation for the above stage, China is currently conducting the assembly of the Shenzhou 8 ship and testing the improved 2 Chinh Truong 2 F rocket. Preparing for this first pairing, there is also the second generation of Chinese astronauts, including two women. China will choose these two female astronauts among their seventh female pilots.

Xinhua said the equipment for scientific experiments as well as ground support systems were also completed.

China said, Thien Cung 1 weighs 8 tons and will be on orbit for about 2 years as a small space experimental station. Within 2 years after the launch of Thien Cung 1, China will in turn launch Shenzhou 8, Than Chau 9 and Than Chau 10 ships in turn to Thien Cung 1. After the Shenzhou 10 spacecraft completes Paired with Thien Cung 1, by 2020, China will start building its own space station.

China said its own space station will accommodate three astronauts, including two female astronauts.
