Video: 8-foot starfish object suspected of alien equipment
The 8-foot starfish metal object appears on the beach of Rhode Island, USA, making many believe it is alien equipment.
The heavy stainless steel object covered with concrete washed up near East Beach in Westerly town, Rhode Island, WPRI reported on August 11. The circular object lies about three meters from the beach at low tide, causing confusion for seafarers.
The strange object has 8 feet on the beach.
"It looks like a metal starfish because it has eight legs radiating from the center," said Peter Brockmann, president of the East Beach Association.
Some people believe that the object is an alien device . However, oceanographers at the University of Rhode Island identified it as part of a device used by US Army Corps of Engineers to track ocean currents and sediments. According to Brockmann, local residents and authorities did not see the object last summer.
On August 15, a local greenery company planned to remove the object but had to postpone it due to damage at the beach. Authorities have not disclosed the time for the next relocation.
