Scientists have discovered an individual species of reverse eye squid, purple body, living in deep sea areas off the coast of California, USA.
Purple dwarf squid.
The dwarf squid has a scientific name, Rossia pacifica, which is about 2 years old. In the daytime they mostly hide in the sand, only their eyes are exposed. According to Nautilus, the team found that squid said they had never seen it before.
They surmised that they lived much more in the North Pacific, between the waters of Japan and Southern California.
