The American sky turned purple after a strong thunderstorm
The sky was dyed purple after a strong thunderstorm in Texas, USA, making local people very surprised and excited.
People in the city of Houston, Texas, USA, witnessed a dramatic thunderstorm against the purple sky on the morning of February 20, according to CBS News.
"At that time it was raining heavily, I woke up to see what happened and I saw this beautiful sky," said Bruna Pantarotto Souza, a local resident.

Patricia Howard, another resident, was also mesmerized by the beauty of the sky as she walked outside her home in Texas at 6:45."I've never seen anything like that before." The purple rain "still impresses me until now , " Howard said.
Observers said the purple rain lasted about 2 hours. The sky became colorful at 5:30 and turned gray at 7:15.
"I was surprised. We just saw the red sky and never saw it purple," said Zari Flores, a resident of Houston.
Earlier, the US National Weather Service (NWS) warned that heavy thunderstorms would take place in several Texas counties including Fort Bend, Grimes, Harris, Montgomery. The cause of the sky turning purple is still a mystery, but people hope the phenomenon will reappear.
