NASA can take an unmanned aircraft to Mars on a mission to explore the red planet in 2020 with the explorer vehicle.
The plane weighs 1.8kg.
The drone helps scientists better observe rough terrain, according to NASA. It also helps to explore the predetermined path of an explorer to find obstacles
The aircraft is equipped with two cameras, one for navigation and the other for high resolution photography. It is also designed to withstand the planet's atmosphere.
The aircraft weighs 1.8kg with a small battery pack, can maintain a flight lasting 2 minutes. Solar panels will help recharge batteries between flights.
