Video: Rare and precious 4m long ink swim along Japanese seaport
Giant precious squid appeared in a seaport of Japan, attracting the attention of many people.
Motherboard reported on December 26, a white and orange ink nearly 4 meters long, one meter wide, recorded while swimming next to a boat anchored in Toyama Bay on the west coast of Japan. Similar large squid often live in deep water. They were only discovered by the body floating on the sea or washed ashore.
In the video, the giant squid swims along a crowded seaport and is only a few centimeters from the water. After the video was shared on social networks, experts realized this was an extremely rare Architeuthis squid . The largest Architeuthis squid is 13m long and weighs a ton. This species of squid grows very fast and can live up to 5 years. During that time, they only reproduce once.
